cuttlefish bone for ya garden

hell oo all ,

last week after the huge swell i picked up like 2 shopping bags of cuttlefish bone. i have used this b4 in the garden but only in lil amounts. so my Q is?? does any1 use this and whats tha pros and cons of it?? .. i thinks cacti would love it..

o yeah i have been groundin it down to powder form and using like i would lime ... not in my nose.

Id guess calcium amongst other things? Like crushed seashells too

I smash it up (in a bag and hammer smash time) and run it through the compost bins....calcium source

EDIT - I only add a handful or so at a time when adding a load of materials.
