bogan fans ????

Recommended Posts

Hi all. This thread is motivated by my curiosity into named clone trich. Bogan...

Ive read the origin thread a few others speculating peru and macro origins but cant really find too much more info..??? Almost all the for sale threads dont generate much interest, that ive noticed..

I am wondering if anyone has any more info at all about it, In any aspect of the plant.

I received a largish rooted specimen a while back and was not overly impressed. Kinda scummy looking, mite scars and shitty colour and generally unappealing complexion..

I received a superpedro at the same time of similar size only the sp was about a foot taller..

I put them both in same spot, same sizEd pot and same soil brew at the same time.

The bogan has over taken the sp and the new growth is such a lovely blue!

Im kinda hot for this clone at the moment and wanted to see if there were any other fans and more info..

Ps no macro traits if you ask me....

Thanks

Hi Prier, could be. Do you by any chance have any other Pics of Australian Hybrids for the Database? Would really appreciate it! Will be working the whole next week on the site and post all kinds of Pics that people gave me and i want to get the Database going as well.

These photos show off a bit of variation within the clone. The first plant was grown shadier than most and appears more green rather than blue. The second photo shows the base of a very old plant where the spines are slightly longer.

:wub:Got this cut a little while back, the new growth is indeed a lovely blue. I love the way its terminated growth like the sausage plant although could be due to mechanical damage?? Has anyone noticed any variegation?

Katu, on the subject of variegation. I have a plant that shot a sparsely variegated branch. I cut it off a few years ago and have been growing it on. All the new growth came out normal, so I recently cut the plant again just at the top of the variegated section. Hopefully some nice variegated branches next spring. Not really photo worthy just yet.
Curious this was brought up as this is the only San Pedro clone I've watched shoot a variegated branch.

G'day Prier, there's a little of variegation on one of mine, nothing to get too excited about but their none the less. That is interesting regarding the variegated pup not sure I've seen it myself on any clones of mine. What are your thoughts on species? macro, peru? Leaning towards macro myself but i'm in no way an expert on these matters..
