Zen Peddler Posted January 1, 2014 Happy new years champs. I had one spawn bag of supplemented sawdust that I used to innoculate five bags of supplemented white poplar sawdust. All went well although colonization was painfully slow. I have some straw beds and some massive piles of Mountain greygum mulch and chips. Checking today the eucalypt beds I created have all died back despite being covered and moist. The mycelium has turned to a weird yellowcstinky slime whereas the straw beds are ok. anyone grown this on eucalypt?
waterboy 2.0 Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) I've recently tried chainsaw chips and it didnt work so good. Straw/shit gave me the best results previously, and really dry , "chunky" straw I found that king stroph on grain at least really does like being stirred up fairly regularly when colonisation slows down - may help as well on sawdust? Edit - euc saw chips got lots of different fungi invade the bed Edited January 1, 2014 by waterboy
