l.williamsii physical attributes

Recommended Posts

Hi all

So I have noticed that some times a plant labelled as l.williamsii may be a dark green and glossy skin or a more army green and sorta velvety skin....

Is this a different plant or different grow conditions???

Ive noticed it with both clumping and singular forms

...........

as far as i know only the flowers can really tell different lophs apart. l. williamsii has pink flowers, l. diffusa has yellowish?

So, how to keep my loph bright emerald green? Which conditions should I give it?

I think that lophs kept outdoors sometimes lose that nice, velvety fuzz and turn smooth and glossy, whereas those kept in greenhouses out of the elements retain the soft fluff.

It's also temperature and moisture fluctuations. I find that my lophs are greener while in their active, growing phase such as after rain and in the warm months, but they go bluer in cold, dry, dormant conditions.

All of my lophs look very different and are all grown under the same growing conditions which I think is cool:)
