The girl’s parents would not allow her to access the Internet after 10pm, which she thought was “too strict,” according to a Rocklin police statement. So the girl mixed a friend’s prescription sleeping pill into her parents’ milkshakes. The parents noted their milkshakes tasted very odd and only consumed about a quarter of them. But it was apparently enough for the drug to take effect and both parents were unconscious within an hour, providing their daughter with unrestricted Internet access. Upon awakening the following morning, the parents suspected something had been put in their milkshakes. Their suspicions were confirmed after they took a drug test. The daughter and her friend were arrested for conspiracy and willfully mingling a pharmaceutical into food. They were booked into Placer County Juvenile Hall.
