waterboy 2.0 Posted June 29, 2012 Collect as much heirloom vegetable and fruit as you can, produce seed and distribute it far and wide. Cutting out the competition is good for business it appears. I do not trust ANYONE involved in Australias Department ofAgriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) - who are the codex member contact organisation. why: The forestry sector here ran unsustainably, now is basically finished (but hey its the "greenies" fault...lol) THEN They are about the allow a 143m long supertrawler (read oceanic vacuum that is depleting fish stocks internationally) into Australias waters to pillage Tasmanian fish stocks to ship elsewhere. a snippet if you are not aware: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/tasmania-bound-super-trawler-sabotaged/story-e6frg6so-1226411187181 Fck you DAFF, and stick your Codex you bunch of puppets. http://www.daff.gov.au/agriculture-food/codex and Australia codex committees: http://www.daff.gov.au/agriculture-food/codex/committees#summary We will all be guerrilla grow food if we are not careful, since the codex fits within the PRODUCT INTEGRITY section WB
LokStok Posted June 29, 2012 "But the Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) has dismissed over-fishing concerns, saying the Margiris would have little if any impact on the broader eco-system with strict catch limits in place" "Ms Gillard said no formal application had yet been made for an operating licence and stressed the vessel would have strict quotas, possibly being required to have independent observers and seal-detection equipment on board." The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) is a joke. Talking about catch limits & quotas in relation to trawling highlights a complete lack of understanding of what actually goes on.
_Cursive Posted June 30, 2012 Thankyou all for replying. It's in our best interest to proliferate this knowledge to everyone. I had actually thought of buying up heirloom seeds for self use, freezing them so the life of the seed lasts. That's an even better idea to proliferate the seeds. I like it! Distracted Posted June 30, 2012 Fck you DAFF, and stick your Codex you bunch of puppets. http://www.daff.gov....ture-food/codex A cherry picked sentence I like in that website Whilst recognising the role of science, food standards should also be evidence-based. The 'should also be' infers that science isn't evidence based. This is interesting, anybody game? f you are a resident of Australia and you work in the Australian food industry, academia or represent a registered consumer public interest group, you can register as a Codex Stakeholder in order to provide comment on Codex discussion papers, provide input into meetings of Codex Advisory Panels and nominate representatives to attend meetings as part of Australian delegations.
