Optimal Australian Soil ph for Acacias?

Recommended Posts

Dear friends from Oz,

Does anyone have any recommendations for the proper/optimal soil ph for my new baby obtusifolias? What do they *really, really* love?

Thanks in advance for any advice you might be able to offer!

Althouh they grow on the edges of rainforests which are ph5-6, they are more commonly found on poorer and more acidic soils (4-5).

if you're going to fuss over them then probably best to keep at about 5-5.5, and to use a mix with very little organic matter in the first couple of years.
