Anicho Posted June 3, 2012 Hi, Was wondering what my changes are trying to grow shrooms from a bag of dried & ground up mushrooms? Spores are pretty microscopic so I think there is a chance they survived the grounding? Any insights would be awesome. xx

dionysus Posted June 3, 2012 theoretically, yes, but it would be grossly contaminated and require excellent agar skills to isolate what you wanted. rehydrating dried bits of ground tissue would be the way to go about it, as you wouldnt be able to seperate spores anyway. dried bits of tissue may have spores to germinate on the agar anyway. only use my advice if you are talking eddible or otherwise non illegal mushrooms. Anicho Posted June 3, 2012 Great thanks. Didn't even think about contamination really. I'll try both methods.
