Gwydion Posted February 26, 2003 In his Pharmocotheon, Ott mentions an Australian plant in the ayahuasca section. "Banisteria chrysophylla (=Heteropterys chrysophylla; Gates 1982), incorrectly cited as Banisteriopsis crysophylla [sic] (in Deulofen 1967), has been reported to contain alkaloids (Webb 1949)". p. 211. Any ideas, info, on this plant?
Gwydion Posted February 26, 2003 Just did a quick search of the web, and it looks like it's actually from Brazil (which makes a lot more sense). I wonder what Ott has been eating.
Ed Dunkel Posted February 27, 2003 It is not an escaped brasillian that was thought to be native to Australia around the early 1900's? Anymore info on this one...
