Please help with an ID

Question

I think this a cuzcoid? The old spines have a very swollen base, some new spines are green.

The plant I posted above came labelled as T. Bridgesii. I tried again to get a Bridgesii and bought a cutting. Can this cutting be ID'd with the spines trimmed off?

Hard to tell but i dont think its Bridgesii. Rather a Peruvianus of some sort.

you cant be sure. it can indeed be a fatty 6-rib bridgesi, but you're right in that the phenotype of the body reminds other things. I still suspect its a bridgesii, notice the yellowish new spines!
