How to recognize Trichocereus Terscheckii & Pasacana
johnnyqg replied to mutant's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
I'll be 100+ in 50-60 years but I'll be happy if my Werdemannianus looks like this one near my home at the Berkeley Botanical Gardens. -
How to recognize Trichocereus Terscheckii & Pasacana
johnnyqg replied to mutant's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
I bought these cacti in May at nurseries in Northern California. First, labelled T. Werdermannius: Second, labelled T. Tersheckii; Third, labelled Trichocereus: Fourth, labelled T. Terscheckii; The third looks like T. Candicans to me; do the others seem correctly identified? Thanks -
Thank you for the very fast answers. Here are a few more from the free box: A Cereus? about 5cm in diameter at the widest point A mammillaria? 6 or 7 cm diameter ? about 3 cm diameter

Please help me ID my new cacti. All were very yellow when I got them but they are greening up now. I bought the first cactus at a nursery in California, it had no label and the owners were unable to identify it: The second cactus was in a box marked free left at the side of the road: This cactus was also in the free box. Thanks

The owner of the "Thelegonus" thinks it is mislabeled also. Does anyone else think the "Thelogonus" cutting looks a lot like the "SS Peru" cutting at the top of the page? I would like to know if anyone can see differences from my photos.

I'll post pictures when the small Glaucus cutting grows. Here are pictures of another cutting from the person with the seed grown SS Peruvian shown above. He remembers this plant coming from a Northern California nursery called Poots Cactus, also around 2000. The plant was labelled T Thelegonus when he got it.

I just bought a small cutting of T. Glaucus from Sacred Succulents and I do see a resemblance.

Can someone help ID a cutting that I picked up in Northern California? The owner remembered that it was grown from seeds labelled "Peruvian" from Sacred Succulents from around 2000. Thanks.

The plant I posted above came labelled as T. Bridgesii. I tried again to get a Bridgesii and bought a cutting. Can this cutting be ID'd with the spines trimmed off? Thank you.

Thank you for the fast answers. Also, Hello to the forum; I forgot to say Hi in my first post.

I think this a cuzcoid? The old spines have a very swollen base, some new spines are green. Thanks,
