cactuscarl Posted August 1, 2011 Hi all I've just planted some lophs seedlings and they are doing great. I put down about 80 and got 45 up in 17 days yay! They are all looking healthy and green except one witch is completely pink it's one of the biggest looks healthy. All the others that size are green and the smaller ones are yellow turning green no other pink one. So I'm hoping I've got a freak but not sure my questions are 1 could it be a freaky pink loph 2 will it survive on it's own roots if not how long will it survive before id have to graft it I'll post pics this arvo
bogfrog Posted August 1, 2011 cool it very well could be, the pink ones seem to last alot longer than albinos so you should have a good wee while to consider weather to graft esp since you say its one of the biggest and looks healthy! i have only had a couple pink san pedros but they are still on their own roots and a good 4 months old. planthelper Posted August 1, 2011 just graft them now, grafting them doesn't get easier if you wait. like that you have done the work already, and can relax and just watch them going ape shit. i think, i have for the first time managed to produce a surviving variegated loph and allthough it's twice as big as a green pea, i still don't want to call it a variegated specimen. because who knows, it could be still just a localised orange sun burn. i did not even notice any color difference with this individual when i did the grafting... anyway, i always graft early, grafting 4 weeks later, does not make the job any easier, as said....
