Next time maybe try saying something like "I am interested in buying some ............, please p.m. me if have some to sell. Thank you." or something similar. I think we all have to remember that in some languages, simply adding a 'please' in the sentence is very appropriately and politely acceptable - however in english, one of the hardest languages to learn (and get the gist of), we have to be very particular in how we sound things.
