Weeds or Plants?

Question

I bought a few plants from shaman-australis.com and now have a few different weeds/plants growing with them. I'm new to gardening so I'm not sure what the other weeds or plants are. Some of the weeds are now bigger than the plant since I've been away on holidays.

Pic 1 - tabernanthe iboga. Is the other plant just a blade of grass?

Pic 2 - catha edulus (you can just see it in the back leaning on the bamboo). The 2 bigger plants/weed I'm not sure what they are?

Pic 3 - catha edulus - is the plant on the left just a weed?

Sorry for asking such a basic question. I probably should just pull them out straght away but I just want to know what they are first.

growing plant means you have to care for them, and to know what is what...

you have to become better with your green thumb!

pic 1, did it never occure to you to weed out that plant, the iboca got basicly bullied halve dead.

pic 2, only unwanted plants in that shot, can't see any catha.

pic 3, pull out the unwanted plant on the left of the catha.

Thanks mate. I've been away for the past 2 months and had someone else take care of them for me. He had no idea what was what and just watered them. I only just got back today and wanted to know what was what before I ripped them out.

I'm pretty devastated about the iboga. What's the best thing I can do to get this plant back in good condition. Will the leaves just have fallen off because of the cold?

Irie,

Don't stress to much on the iboga, they have a habit of being temperamental!!

They loose the leaf and look like crap for 3 months then spring back to life.

Sick looking psychotria, in back of third shot...

If that's the only one you have, I'd slice half the leaf off and try for some leaf cuttings!

Respect,

Z

I agree, Cut half that leaf off and wrap it in tissue paper and put in a cliplock bag, then blow full of used up air, take a deep breath hold for as long as possible and blow in. (check this guide for details)

Also i think your Psychotria is suffering the same fate as mine did. Get it into a humidity crib or hot house asap and it will love you for it. Mine was out getting too much sun and too much cold weather and it copped a beating.

The rest of your questions seem to have been answered already.

to my own findings, (no need for you guy's to agree) hot house or humidety crib psychotrias are crap and have low % of activas.

aswell once they are addicted to a constant high humidety, they are very difficult to wean of that condition.

it's almost a life sentence, unless you know how to harden out plants and are good with this process.
