Auxin Posted June 7, 2011 i think this thread titles a little incendiary. Yup, and intentionally so, because the threads subject is (or at least should be) incendiary.Being polite, coy, and apologetic to abuse of people may be the tradition- giving us ideas like 'ethnic cleansing', 'collateral damage', 'enhanced interrogation' etc- is itself a crime. So why not be honest and call things like they are? This legislation may not kill many, but it will kill some and the government knows it. Every time a needy family cant get $35 to pay for a drug test they are at enhanced risk. Every time a needy family shy away from asking for help for fear of failing a drug test they are at enhanced risk. Theres this queer trend of late thinking that so long as something, be it a pharmaceutical, radiation exposure, or government legislation kills only 1 in 10,000 people its "completely safe". Maybe that sort of math is why americas third leading cause of death is 'proper' use or 'properly prescribed' drugs and medical procedures.
