blueing Inocybe & Pluteus in Tasmania

Recommended Posts

Hey Tas75,

My thoughts are with it is is greater abundance towards the climax community, hence your comments re fire fitting.

Which does bring its presence out of "old growth"(?), and in forests closer to climax.

I can add parts of Great Western Tiers, Mt Victoria,Mt Maurice etc - but these are pockets of true "old growth", so possibly due to the climax community and hence fungal biodiversity reduction it is absent or scarce.

Altitude may be a function of distribution, possibly size of the woody substrate available also.

Myrtles may not be hard to find, but the blueing Pluteus appears to be "light on the ground" and this includes conversations with quite a few Fungimap folk.
