Viewing first posts without entering topic

I'm sure I was the last person to find out, but I thought I'd see if anyone else didn't know either.

Basically, in the thread listings, if you hover your mouse over the rightmost portion of the 'Topic' field, an icon appears. The icon is for 'View topic preview'. Clicking this opens a small javascript window with the first post in. Legend!
