What language do you think in?

Recommended Posts

eLwAd, i find the same thing, but with mandarin rather than hebrew. Its funny how certain languages, or maybe more appropriately: cultures, use different ways to express some things. English just doesnt adequately describe certain things that mandarin, and im sure herew for you, can. and other way around as well. I still have not figured out how to call someone a douchebag in chinese, which frustrates me.

yeah greek is lots more expressive than english too.

but as I am used to talking and reading about lots of stuff in english forums, for a range of topics the engish words come up first and sometimes I have to think hard to remember the greek terminology/word!

I don't think in langauge, I think in image/symbols or feelings. Then I do the translation thing and turn it into English, but it always starts out as an image or feeling first.
