2meke Posted March 1, 2011 got a sweet as bridgesii seedling today but it has some prety bad scale. even tho neem oil isn't really supposed to kill bugs would a strong dose of it suffocate the scale bugs?
PD. Posted March 1, 2011 There does seem to be a few lil bits that do look like scale but that big white patch looks like a scar of some rot or sunburn that has healed over. The scale can be taken care of easily, just keep at it over a few weeks and it will be gone, easy. There is plenty of info here on how to get rid of scale. DarkSpark Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) i agree with PD, larger part is likely where it was resting on another plant or sunburn or something similar. try toothbrushing the little bits of scale off first to keep it at bay a bit. I have neem here never tried it for scale though. edit: looks alot like the little fella i found at bunnings labeled as a T. Peruvianus just a bit darker in colord Edited March 1, 2011 by DarkSpark
2meke Posted March 3, 2011 sweet thanks. yeah id already scrubbed it b4 this foto, there was some heavy scale in the ribs. i didnt mind tho cos i talked the price down $8. theres alot of mis labelling going on out there ay. i've got some "pachnois" off this same lady that had very long spines but she says they were grown from pachnoi seeds, so i guess the seed supplyer got label wrong or they've been crossed. but i do trust this as being bridgesii. there was abit of variation in her bridgesii's but this is the form that comes to mind when i think of them...
