0 CβL Posted December 28, 2010 Looks a bit like a T. Terschekii. I only have a small one, but the shape of the ribs and the spine growth look very similar.
0 bℓσωηG Posted December 28, 2010 Well i was pretty sure it wasn't even a Trichocereus man but thanks... Stetsonia coryne anyone?
0 CβL Posted December 28, 2010 I'd have to agree with your suspicions. The colour of the spines is almost a giveaway.
0 bℓσωηG Posted December 28, 2010 yeah i wish it was, i am getting to really like those heavily spined Trichos, even though they are few and far between...
0 solomon Posted December 28, 2010 i dont think its a Stetsonia man, i'd guess some sort of tricho (probably just wishful thinking) tho the spination does look almost identical to some of the pics i'm looking at.
0 mutant Posted December 29, 2010 I don't think it's a stretsonia either areoles are not right, spines too, skin colour too, but more so, new spines colour [tell tell IMO] are wrong. New spine gro I don't see why it couldn't be some of the fatty Tricho's you want it to be blowng. Seeing the funky curvy spines, I don't see why it could't be a T.wendermanianus. I would suggest to place in full sun and please update with a pic of the whole body and new spines as they grow more. and keep all possibilities open, I would risk another guess and say some Pachycereus not pecten-aborigum and not pringley too I think ...
