Anyone recognize this??

Question

Got this as a pup off a large columnar , finally after a year it has put out some new growth (talk about slow) , can anyone give it an ID?? please... :blush:

Looks a bit like a T. Terschekii. I only have a small one, but the shape of the ribs and the spine growth look very similar. :)

Well i was pretty sure it wasn't even a Trichocereus man but thanks...

I'd have to agree with your suspicions. The colour of the spines is almost a giveaway. :)

yeah i wish it was, i am getting to really like those heavily spined Trichos, even though they are few and far between...

i dont think its a Stetsonia man, i'd guess some sort of tricho (probably just wishful thinking)

tho the spination does look almost identical to some of the pics i'm looking at.

I don't think it's a stretsonia either

areoles are not right, spines too, skin colour too, but more so, new spines colour [tell tell IMO] are wrong. New spine gro

I don't see why it couldn't be some of the fatty Tricho's you want it to be blowng. Seeing the funky curvy spines, I don't see why it could't be a T.wendermanianus.

I would suggest to place in full sun and please update with a pic of the whole body and new spines as they grow more.

and keep all possibilities open,

I would risk another guess and say some Pachycereus

not pecten-aborigum

and not pringley too I think ...
