Auxin Posted June 27, 2010 While reading a medical book it dawned on me that Erythroxylum means "Red Wood", Sure nuf at least two Erythroxylum species are harvested for their wood. [pic] But I searched all frikking over for pics of the woods of Erythroxylum coca and Erythroxylum novogranatense to no avail. How fucking godawful awesome would it be to have the wood of E. novogranatense on a pen, or pocket knife, snuff tube, or a $2000 native american flute!?! But such items dont seem to exist So my questions are: do the stimulant Erythroxylum species make theoretically usable wood? are they indeed red too? and has anyone ever seen Anything made from some? Assuming the wood would be legal some peruvian farmer could make a mint carving little deities and snuff tubes from them.
naja naja Posted June 27, 2010 novo grows in java, to large tree's. Surely the wood would be usable. Just as the other ethroxylum species. Prob sumthing to do with legal reasons.
