Atlas Posted June 10, 2010 Hey all, I believe I've found quite alot of obtusifolias and logged there gps co-ords, the problem is I have never seen an ID'd one so I'm only working off Botany specs. Does anyone had some leaves or preferably a branch for trade, so I can ID them better. I can't tell if the ones i've found are sophoraes and longifolias as opposed to obtus. I have found many with stiff leaves which break when folded but under a microscope i can't seem to identify any resin glands on the phyllode edges. Does anyone know what these resin glands look like under a microscope? and are they sticky to touch? Any help would be greatly appreciated and rewarded...
obtuse Posted June 10, 2010 happy to send you a few leaves if you want. but the leaves have a quite obvious gland on the upper edge of the phyllode just above the base. http://www.worldwidewattle.com/speciesgallery/obtusifolia.php cheers, Obtuse.
