indigo264nm Posted November 6, 2008 Gonna be like everybody and give big ups to massive attack... good ole Tricky's Maxinque album always worth a shot. Bjork is nice if you're in the mood. Progressive instrumental post rock stuff like Godspeed You Black Emporer, Explosions in the Sky (though some of harmonies built up perfectly can hit pretty powerfully), Mogwai etc are always a pleaser. Shame I stopped listenin to this scene of music because have heard a few tracks on FBI lately playing some similar style music some of which done in collaboration with godspeed. Besides from that Aphex's Selected Ambient Works (especially 85-92) is the gear for perfect background sounds - alot of his other stuff I like (especially the acid Analord stuff) can often be way to hectic to listen to. Boards of Canada I def agree with. As do I agree with Air. Progressive trance\psytrance is always nice. Antix (though not really psy), Sun Control Species, and Tetrameth etc I find quite chilling. Old school dub and reggae is always good summer arvo chill out tunes. Even some of the dubstep stuff that isn't so heavy sounding like Burial and sometimes Boxcutter is also quite relaxing.
