G'day, I've been copping some hayfever lately, and a while back I killed my ma huang with a dose of worm castings. A few twigs used to fix me up in no time. My plant was a tough little thing, moving from Lismore to Tassie to Bellingen, often without soil for days, left to dry for long periods, but hung in there to provide me with relief after lawnmowing or woodworking. Bloody worm castings..

Anyhow, I would dearly like to have some handy, and would be happy to trade or buy plants or seeds.

Muchos gracias

we've decided to sell some of our mature E.major plants as we want to downscale the number of plants we have here. I am offering 5+ year old plants in 12" pots for $70. These have been pampered as we wanted them for seed production. There are only a few and we have a 2 plant limit per customer. They are pick up from the nursery only as they are too big to ship.

Whats the alkaloid content in the major T? I have heard it has no eph or psuedoeph and also heard that it does contain both of the previous alks. Is it a variable thing from plant to plant? Whats the go? :) Same for dyastacha, read conflicting reports on that one as well.

Love a sinensis or 4 but I'm buggered if I can get the seed to even sprout :scratchhead: . No worries with the major just the sinensis. Is sinica the same as sinensis?

Pity I've just moved from Wilsons Creek to Canberra! Not sure when I'll be back north-I'll see if I can find someone heading to the bluesfest kind enough to escort one back. Just checking, re Harry's post, these are used for hayfever?

Cheers

never analysed my plants, but I know the seeds come from a plantation overseas that grows them for the medicinal high alkaloid herb.

From 'tasting' it I'd say it is high in alkaloids. Probably the same as sinensis, but it doesn't taste as nice.

I don't think it is plant to plant, but more population to population.

We've still got a few at the nursery.

Is sinica the same as sinensis?

yes.

To be honest, picking up a couple of sinica's was one of the reason's I wanted to visit SAB nursery when I was in the area :) Any chance of getting a couple through mail order?

Thanx for clarifying the alky siuation T.

Sorry to hijack your thread Worowa

they really don't like being shipped, so we don't usually do it. Might offer some online in late autumn as they cope with shipping better then.

No worries Harry.

Torsten, I'm getting some fruit trees from Forbidden Fruits sent down here-they're based up near Mullum, do you think it would be possible to get one shipped down with the fruit trees? I can wait 'till Autumn.

we don't use any plant shippers, but you are welcome to get them to come and pick it up.
