Ice extraction

Recommended Posts

Have been meaning to post this for a while, have had it sitting in my Inbox for some time now & thought that being all should have their harvests of Shiva in by now(theoritically of course!!!) that you might be able to benefit from this recipe that was so kindly passed onto me by an Englishman I met at EB1.

God save the Queen!!

You need....

3x Buckets

coffee filters

ice

3x empty 2 litre bottles eg.spring water

electric food hand mixer(not a blender)

mozzy net(i have tried other things this works best)

the above amounts relate to using 2-3oz of material

step1

break up the plant material into a bucket(if very dense material is used

the

more time you spend pulling apart the better end results)

step2

add the same depth of ice as you have plant material (around 2-3 inches)

and around 1-2 litres of water(cold).then using the mixer work the stuff

for

5 mins(i start on slow and work my way upto fast,i dont know why it just

seems to work well.

step3

place mozzy net over a clean bucket and empty first bucket onto it,repeat

the mixing process with the same plant material so that you end up with

2 buckets with brown water in them(the plant mat can now go on the

compost heap.

step4

wait for 2 hours without disturbing the buckets, just relax and enjoy yourself.

(any shorter is not good and also any longer is equally not good)

step 5

this is where the emmpty bottles come into it,cut the top off and invert

the

top in the bottom without the lid on,place a coffee filter inside the top

of the bottle,which is

now upside down.repeat 3 times

step 6

now you have to drain off the top unwanted water without disturbing the

sediment

in the bottom of the buckets(syphon works well)

step 7

filter the remaining solution through the filters(they will probably clog

before they drain

completely so carefully take the filter out holding the top,and gently squeeze

the remaining

water out until it feels like there is wet clay inside)

step 8

lay the filter on a flat surface and scrape the contents into your hand

and press the

moisture out, keep doing this for around 5-10 mins

step 9

you dont need me for this one!ENJOY

A separation rather than an extraction. I can´t see that it would be better than using chilled plant material for gentle screening.

Pardon my ignorance, but what plant material is this for? (I'm unfamiliar with the term "harvest of Shiva")

The sacred plants of the Hindu God Shiva the Destroyer include Datura and Cannabis. There are others that are under his dominion but I can't recall them off the top of my head.

Scotty, as Theo mentions Shiva is associated with Cannibas, I find the term Shiva more in line with my personal belief system. I have found that you are what you say, should you call it dope, you are that. Same with the term "drugs" I find this ellicits such a negative view, drug is such a guttural harsh word and not appropriate for the plants talked about in the context of Ethnobotany.

Very true, if only more people were informed and not brainwashed by the media.
