teonanacatl Posted November 19, 2006 yeah mine have been chomped a few times, always at night i figure rodent of somesort, always has a go at all of them too, they heal alright and grow fine just look worse i guess. Its a good idea to put lophs under a cage of somsort as birds also like to have a go at them Probably the worst offenders around here are ants which steal all my fruits if i dont pick them straight away which means i get unfully formed seed. I even try providing them with other food but they like the seed/fruit.

teonanacatl Posted November 19, 2006 you could always look at it as a potency test, those with more bite marks arnt as potent I figure its rodents because of the shape of the teeth marks, but also watch out for catipillars, especially those ones that only seem to come out at night and chop all seedlings off below the cotyledons. DoNk Posted November 19, 2006 (edited) I had the exact same thing happen to two of my grafted loph's. I could be wrong, but I believe the culprit was a caterpillar or slug. Good luck! Edited November 19, 2006 by DoNk
