Salvi Posted September 13, 2006 Anyone have any idea what this is? I'm not going to say what the seed was labeled as so as not to bias anyone..
0 Pisgah Posted September 13, 2006 Was it the one from Tamaulipas? The Caespitose one?
0 Salvi Posted September 13, 2006 Nah, this wasn't even supposed to be caespitosa, it's an odd one out of the batch.

0 Evil Genius Posted September 13, 2006 Hi Salvi, please make sure if it has some very fine spines on the areoles. I´m pretty sure this is a jourdania. bye EG
0 transDiMenTional Posted September 13, 2006 I thought that a williamsii would produce small spines when grafted. Very minute fine spines that u can feel if u run ur finger over it.... Or do i have a jourdania two?
0 Evil Genius Posted September 13, 2006 (edited) Hi Jeffery, from what i know, only jourdania has these fine spines. I don´t think that these spines have something to do with grafting. This Loph resembles my Jourdanias pretty much. bye EG Edited September 13, 2006 by Evil Genius
0 Pisgah Posted September 16, 2006 Must know, must know... PLEEEEZE?
0 Salvi Posted September 16, 2006 (edited) lol well it was supposedly just "generic" L. diffusa. However, it really doesn't resemble any of the other plants that grew from the same seeds. Not just all of the pups, but the tubercles seem to be shaped differently. E.G. I'm pretty sure the tufts are soft on this one, and not spiny. I'll check to make sure.
