bit Posted September 2, 2006 Have got myeslf a few little succulents (a haworthia and a gasteria and one other) which I'd like to put in the centre of our coffee table. It's in a mice sunny position. In some nurseries I see these potted in what looks like a fine gravel - is this ok to use? I would have to go out and find some. I have available a medum fine pummice mix - could I use this instead? what sort of feeding schedule would plants in such medium require? Thanks
strangebrew Posted September 2, 2006 Good choice, they generally don't get very big or grow fast. You've picked 2 of the most shade tolerant species but they'll still do OK, just get a bit of stress colouring. They'll grow in anything but good drainage always helps. 1/4 strength liquid fertilizer occassionally if you can be bothered.
