Ornamental succulents

Recommended Posts

Have got myeslf a few little succulents (a haworthia and a gasteria and one other) which I'd like to put in the centre of our coffee table.

It's in a mice sunny position.

In some nurseries I see these potted in what looks like a fine gravel - is this ok to use? I would have to go out and find some. I have available a medum fine pummice mix - could I use this instead? what sort of feeding schedule would plants in such medium require?

Thanks

Good choice, they generally don't get very big or grow fast. You've picked 2 of the most shade tolerant species but they'll still do OK, just get a bit of stress colouring.

They'll grow in anything but good drainage always helps. 1/4 strength liquid fertilizer occassionally if you can be bothered.
