bit Posted June 10, 2006 Photo 2 - nice macronoidPhoto 3 - Ferocactus latispinus. Photo 5 - slow growing macrogonus Thanks! I hope the one in pic 5 takes off this spring - the person I purchased it off only had a couple of cacti and didn't look like she knew how to look after them. I suspect far too much water and not enough sunshine.
faslimy Posted June 10, 2006 I know the names, I just can't pronounce them I suspect the macrogonus looking one has one parent being a scopulicola. The top one is T. pasacana and the Ferocactus is the large columnar clumping F. stainesii As for the old lady plant I reckon that one will turn out to be a real treasure, I've been looking for a clone with those qualities for a while with no luck. You seem to be one lucky bastard bit, heh ^_^

I knew you knew them, except for maybe the macro looking one If that old lady one does take off this spring you're welcome to a cutting/pup. I suspect it'll throw off a pup or two given the damage she inflicted on it removing the pup off the bottom. As for luck, yeah I have been lucky, but I've also paid too much for some very average plants too .. you should post more pics of your specimens.. I nearly died when I saw the size of some of them... and all flawless..
strangebrew Posted June 10, 2006 I think mine might be Ferocactus stainesii (now pilosus) as well then and to think I'll never live to get to do this, damn! http://funnypics.free.fr/explorer/public/i...ctus%20dick.jpg ^_^
