Fenris Posted May 27, 2006 (edited) I picked this up this afternoon. It looks like a T Peruvianus to me but I am not entirely sure, but for less than $3 I cant complain if it isn't. Gunter Posted May 27, 2006 Not a Trichocereus that I can tell. Areoles and spines are the biggest diff.

amanito Posted May 27, 2006 (edited) These are my Stetsonia coryne's . Got them from the local garden centre. Look pretty much the same. Stetsonia S. coryne - Native from central Argentina to Northwest Paraguay and Southeast Bolivia. This large, candle shaped plant grows to 8 meters. Stems are bluish-gray with 8 or 9 rounded ribs, shallow grooves. Has felted areoles, each bearing 7 to 9, 3cm long spines. Night blooming with tubular, white flowers with green edges. Rarely cultivated. Contains: anhalidine, anhalonidine, coryniene, 3,4-dimethoxyphenethylamine, mescaline, 3-methoxytyramine, N-methyltyramine, tyramine. Anyone on this board tried this sp. btw? faslimy Posted May 28, 2006 "Rarely cultivated." I don't think thats quite so true anymore, especially in the states.
Fenris Posted May 28, 2006 Oh well, finding a peruvianus at the local city farmers seemed far to good to be true. Its still going in the cactus patch in the back yard. Check out the big pach I put it in the ground a year and a half ago. I think the new growth was rather good it mush have trippled in size.
