Edible/Medicinal shroom spore or culture banks?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Was just wondering if anyone knows about spore or culture banks within Australia?

I'm aware of the awesome funkyfungus site, however there are a few "exotic" species I'm after which aren't sold there.

Specifically I want to obtain the following species:

- Argocybe aegerita (Black Poplar).

- Flammulina velutipes (Enokitake).

- Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi).

- Grifola frondosa (Maitake).

- Morchella sp (Yellow or Black Morel, not fussed).

If anyone knows where these species can be obtained either in spore or culture form (within Australia) please let me know. I'd also be interested in purchasing/trading these from any members willing to part with them.

I have an agrocybe culture, bluemeanie sent it to me but I couldn't find any references to the species he said it was. I assumed he meant agaerita because that was the closest name I could find. The culture is in longterm storage, I'll see if I can revive it if anyone's interested.

www.mushrooms.net.au

I'd say these guy's would have access to the biggest variety of commercial cultures. But I couldn't find any info on the website, maybe it's in the members only section.
