I have some pereskiopsis living outside in a pot in the open. I live on the second floor (3rd for you yanks) of an apartment and have noticed something has had a munch at some leaves. Just wondering if anyone knows what might have done this and how to go about stopping it? I have little general gardening knowledge so any advice would be much appreciated. Need these guys strong and healthy to help support some trichs ill graft in a few weeks.

Hey all, thought it would be good to have a general insect identification thread where we can all seek ID's for the creepy crawlies we find in our ethnobotanical gardens. Hopefully over time this thread could become a reference point so we can all get more familiar with garden insects. Sort your friends from your foes here. A couple of examples... Just found out the identity of this little dude today, many thanks to Tripsis Friend: Brown lacewing - Hemerobiidae. "Hemerobiids, like chrysopids, are predatory, especially on aphids, both as larvae and adults" So I'm quite happy to see them in the greenhouse Foe: Prominent damaged caused by (i'm pretty sure anyway) Asian Citris psyllids on a peach tree.. No sign of the offender, I got told its really really small. Sooo yeh! Feel free to bring your bug ID requests here and hopefully over time we will build up a pretty comprehensive set of garden insect IDs

so a forum search for brevipalpus turned no results so hopefully this is helpful for others also in the future. if anyone can offer tips for wiping these guys out or confirm the ID it would be appreciated. they are not spider mites and I have already released phytoseiulus persimilis into the nursery with no effect. I have another general predatory mite on the way which may or may not help. once I've finished doing h2o2 flushes for fungus gnat larvae I can find out! aaargh pests are ruining my life! in a not depressing but comedic tragedy kind if way.

hi! I got this spots on some of my lophophoras, and got no idea, what they are, or how to get rid of them. any suggestions are welcomed. I guess it could be some kind of rust fungus, and maybe treatments with mancozeb would help. loph with spots: close up, sorry for quality, I couldn't find the tripod:
