Aussi Mushroom Supplies.com is the one that sells the agar and dishes on ebay but he sells them separate on his website. Everything for the amateur mycologist (including inoculation loops). Other than Southern Biological, another place that sells pre-made, pre-sterilised agar plates is Mycologia. I got it where I am (you know Turkey). Luckily all safe in a greenhouse. Yeah that was pretty strong, about marble size hail. The misses was worried about her car, given the last big hail storm. But all is good.

Stainless-steel? I don't know if it's toxic to fungi though. All metals conduct electricity too, but you probably meant high conductivity. I'll bite.......what's it for?

All I want to point out is the plant quarantine and customs regs specifically state they include parts of the plant and the seeds, whereas the fungi regs don't specifically state spores at all. This will be my last post on the subject. Caveat emptor!

I don't know if AQIS had any part in it, was no mention of them, just Customs. But I don't know why it went thru Sydney. Possibley AQIS WA detected and sent to Customs Syd (head office???) for assessment. Point 5 of your link (copied and pasted below) backs this possibility. Customs are either incompetent or the spores are legal. I don't profess to know the ins and outs of AQIS and Customs, how they communicate etc, I'm just telling my story. Do spores contain psilocybin? rumour is no, but rumour is also that importing spores is illegal (how's that for a circular arguement!) Point 5 from you're link: "5. Any plants (or parts of plants, including seeds), fungi (or parts of fungi), and plant products that are prohibited under the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956 that are found by quarantine officers will be referred to the Australian Customs Service." From that I would say spores are a part of fungi and therefore illegal.

I have had cube prints come from a company in Europe fully marked as cubes OPENED BY CUSTOMS (as marked by them) and passed on to me with no issues....so please explain???? Also worth noting is the package was 'processed' by customs at Sydney (Clyde) then sent onto me in WA. Does all international mail go thru Sydney (doubt it) or was it detected in WA and sent to Syd then sent back? This was last year

quick question guy incognito, would you make a syringe to hydrate old spores or drop/scrape them straight to agar or lc? much difference? Agar man? Gender = female? Peace,

Hi all, I recently got stuff to make some pretty good Liquid Culture lids. They have a 0.22um filter (Whatman type) and a silicone self-healing injection port and are on Wide-mouth Ball lids (90mm). They are pressure cooker safe too. I have about 50 complete lids in total. I'm looking to trade preferably a microscopy print or two for each lid, or maybe AU$5. I'm open to offers! Hi guys, Thought I'd chime in, being in Perth and all. Yes you can make an LC with a small piece off a reishi agar plate. If you can get your hands on fresh reishi from a shop, you can start playing with putting a small inside/unexposed piece directly into your substrate OR getting some going onto agar yourself, the problem is I've never seen reishi at any shop, has anyone else? On an LC note, I'm not sure if reishi like anything specific, but with 'others' I've had great success with the standard Karo/water with the secret ingredient.....Vegemite. Lots of yeast, beef extract and salt to fight contams. I know people have used it for agar mixes, but an LC is just the same minus the agar agar. Peace

I have bought 3 batches of cube prints from 'mrca shop' in austria over the last year. All clearly labelled 'Mushroom Research Centre' 'spore prints'. First one, I received no issues. Second one, I received but it had been opened and inspected by customs BUT they still passed them on to me. Third one, again, I received no issues. I've looked into the usb microscopes on ebay, is that what you're talking about? They are like $45, with 400x magnification which is fine for spores. You can take still shots with the included software. Cheers,

They have PP filter patch bags at FOREST FUNGI , not sure if they're gussetted. Dont rule out buying from US or Europe, they Aussie $ is strong at the moment.
