Rosei1 X John and the reverse cross, John X Rosei1. Sown at the same time and grown under the same conditions. Seems to be a fair degree of difference between the two crosses.

Mine are under 30% shade cloth (2 layers during heatwaves etc). A bit of etiolation would be better than seedlings getting singed I guess. When they are bigger they should handle more sun.

When I had terrariums (with funnel web spiders) I would go into the forest and find mossy pieces of wood on the forest floor. Look for nice shaped pieces with a variety of different mosses. Once placed in a terrarium all the little plants absolutely flourish and look sooooo beautiful. Even little ferns will germinate and grow on the logs.

Another really awesome plant to find and add are the salaginellas. They are kinda half way between mosses and ferns. They grow really big in a terrarium.

My funnelwebs rarely ever came out of their caves and my parents were not keen on the idea so eventually I had to let them go again.

The terrariums were just beautiful. One log had glowing mushrooms popping out every week or so for a couple years.

Really nice material there WC. I really like stones in the agate/ carnelian family, the things you can make out of it are just superb and it polishes and carves very nicely.
