Great news! Thanks for the update!. I might start storing seeds along with my pollen in the freezer. I put pollen in multiple layers of snappy bags and then a small plastic jar, then a larger (peanut butter)jar, then a Tupperware container. Not sure why. Just to protect from any extreme temperature fluctuations. Love picking up hints and tips from the Corroboree, thanks again mate!

Oh yeah, Gotta have fresh seeds. They have a half-life of about about 12 months, so every year you wait, like half of them will become un-viable. Some people buying seeds from the UK wonder why their seeds didn't sprout,. Well how long they been sitting in the UK for? A decade? LOL Nobody knows...

It's a very strong Theory, with much evidence to suggest it's only getting stronger by the day. The only differences in opinion that crop up nowadays are retively minor, and don't really change much overall.

It's really good that you care about this. I've had stuff arrive smashed, crushed, damaged, broken, fukt, shit on, etc etc etc. it seriously takes the joy right out of the hobby. Remember that feeling you get when you open a parcel to find something you've been waiting on for so long, and you've spent your rent money on it and it just looks so shiny and beautiful, and gives you Goddamn HOPE in the future! That feeling is what makes this hobby so damn awesome. When people just throw their shit in a box and it arrives all smashed up because they couldn't even use a piece of bubble wrap, well that's just rude and insulting. Seriously people, DON'T EVER DO THAT TO ANYONE. It's a DOG ACT Woof Woof Woof! Yeah, it only takes an extra couple mins to find a bloody piece of newspaper or a cardboard tube etc. I always keep my gladwrap tubes for this purpose and actually, 1.25L and 2L pet bottles can be cut up and sticky-taped back together for this purpose. It's not what you get that makes this hobby so awesome, it's what you GIVE. you gotta learn that! (Rant over )

Ogun was the subject of a single analysis, for a study exploring this very issue. It showed high levels of alks. But as for many hype clones, they're too valuable for experimenting with. Most people plan to sell a couple first, just to recoup the crazy money they spent on it. Can take years before someone decides to take the plunge with their hard-earned $$hype$$. So we may not know for a while. Plus people can make up bullshit rumors too, so who knows what to believe sometimes.

The problem with buying these seeds is there's an element of trust you must take to begin with. The seeds change hands a couple of times along the way, so any one of those people could be BS-ing a little or a lot (or not at all). The other major factor is that virtually NONE of these plants were pollinated by hand, and they are all Open Pollinated in an area dominated by T. peruvianus. So yeah, many of these seedlings that have been sprouted are looking quite spiky and are probably pach X peru hybrids. Nothing really wrong with that except that it's a lot of time, money and effort to get some bastardized seed that wasn't specifically what you were looking for. Anyway. There's been plenty of people sprouting these over the last few years so just sit tight and keep your eyes and ears peeled. Ogun is getting around too, so eventually you'll be able to get it, buy it off someone with a solid rep and high number of posts, and been around for years. I'd start saving though, and start getting proficient with the art of propagation etc. You won't wanna be making rookie errors with a $300 snippet of Ogun.

Nice another comp!!! -Not too worried about taking the prize but just thought I'd share a thrilling moment I experienced very recently. My bush block in Nth NSW has a patch of ex dairy flats and I was so excited to find some cubes after a spot of heavy rains. Just wish I had got there a couple days earlier . Anyway, even though these are a bit over done, it was just an absolute dream come true to find this species on my own little patch of paradise. My heart leapt the moment I saw them. I was walking down to the creek with my fishing rod, looking to hook a bass or cod (catch and release) and halfway across the paddock it dawned on me, "This is both the time AND the place'', so I zig zagged my way towards the creek and all of a sudden BOOM! There they were, so Big, so Beautiful! Finally I felt truly at home with the place I've spent my entire life chasing. I'm just in love with this piece of land, and the damage I've suffered pursuing it has been greatly healed at just the mere sight of this majestic cluster. All I can say is that if you are pursuing a similar dream, then keep pushing, it's worth it. These little moments may seem insignificant to some, but are so powerful to the dreamers.
