Todays upgrade has screwed up some of the features.
Benzito replied to Torsten's topic in Site & Forum Matters
It doesn't matter, security is worth it. Thanks T-bone. -
Great idea guys! I think we all have a dream of being self-sufficient, like our own little personal hippie commune, but it can be quite hard to raise enough food to feed you without a commune of labourers. Maybe it could be called 'Ethical Living'? Because I'm sure the debates will even come down to things like free range vs cage eggs, etc. I like to think if I'm not living sustainably, I'm still living ethically. You know, just try to inflict as little negativity on other living things as I can, in the course of my living.

Yeah the background pic is nice, but too big, it obscures text. Maybe it should be discussed over there instead. I'll do that. Fark! I just wasted half an hour signing up for, and setting up my profile on, the older of this forum. What a waste of time. Might be a little longer before you see me around Gom.

I've had seeds germinate on-top of each other/next to each other and get 'grafted'. Just like yours. The little pissy one died off on me though.

I've heard a similar story from a friend. The first time he tried mushrooms he took 2gm of Subs, staggered over 1.5 hours. He sat and watched TV while he waited for it to happen. He kind of approached it as if he was going to get stoned or something and it would just be a night of normal activities, while tripping. That was his mistake. The casual approach. The next 6 hours were spent curled in the foetal position, being bombarded by fearful thoughts, things he had been putting off, things he had wanted to fix in his life, etc. It was a painful, horrible trip. But he says he still took some good out of the trip, and he did manage to correct those things in his life he had been meaning to, but putting off. He says he has approached every other new drug with alot of respect, and doesn't know why he thought he could approach shrooms so casually, but it was definitely his undoing. No flashbacks like you describe, but he says he hasn't been back to the Shrooms yet, and that was over a year ago. He has been scared by them, that's for sure.

Yes, it is the BEST show I have seen in a while! I think a short film titled 'Wilfred' was entered in the Sydney Short Film Fest(don't quote me on which fest) last year. SBS and the original creators decided to make a TV series based on the concept. It is just about a guy who has started seeing a new girl. Her dog doesn't like him, and is always aggressive towards him. Who hasn't been in a similar situation? Well, the only difference is that the dog is played by a person in a dog costume. Only the boyfriend can hear what the dog says though. This is seriously a classic Aussie comedy, it's so funny I don't even want to spoil any of the jokes. Picture a dog urinating all over a toilet seat to frame the new boyfriend.....

Guruna, one of the SAB-child stores, if it is still active sells Smoke Water. Our member Rimbaud was/is the proprieter, but he is OS now...

Thunderideal, that basic description describes about half of the gecko species native to Aus.

The weather was terrible, and we spent most of the 4 hours or so running around looking for trees to hide under. The meet was attended by GreenCaveFloat, Tonic, Wandjina and myself. Despite the weather we still had a great time, and I look forward to the next time. It was great meeting some new people.

Psychotria Viridis vs Psychotria carthaginensis
Benzito replied to Jesus On Peyote's topic in Ethnobotany
I can't keep Viridis going over winter, and I'm in the Blue Mountains, NSW. Doesn't get below zero degrees either. Carthaginensis does cut back a bit in winter, but comes right back in spring everytime. I would go Carthaginensis for Melbourne. -
Oh yeah, I'll be leaving home shortly for the meet. The weather looks absolutely beautiful for a day just chilling in the gardens. Anyone who wants my mobile number, get it from my post on the 3rd page now, it will be deleted after the meet. I look forward to seeing you all at Martin Place at midday, hope there's lots of new faces. Just SMS or call me if you can't find me or you are late.

Yeah, I don't know the age of my specimen, but I've had it for a year and it's maybe grown an extra 5cm of growth in most areas. It would be at least 5 years old, possibly up to 10? I think it was their mother plant that Hamilton's were propagating from originally. Who knows, it might be the 'adam' of Penis Plants. The original one? I think it is an Australian mutation?

That's what I said, he isn't 'insulting' anyone. He's just showing you your own faults.

I guess you are going to waste some capsules finding out. Trial & error is awesome.

We'll miss you dude. Get well, and don't share your germs with your lovely lady. Don't worry, I don't think any except Bacchant could grow a beard like that! I'll spot the imposter.

It will be a great day! come one come all! Free giveaways.

Well, why doesn't someone try? It's not exactly an expensive experiment. I'd do it, but I'm not a drinker, and when I do it's beer. I would get drunk from one glass, making me a pretty useless test subject.

CS isn't 'insulting' he is just 'CS'. He says what needs to be said, and sometimes a fair bit more. edit: Do miss the old avatar though CS.

A Perioskopsis(sp?) Jesus. The grafting stock of choice, and a great way to keep birds away from smaller cacti! Donated by Darklight when it was barely 2 inches tall last summer.

Hasn't he released, like, 30 albums or something? I always enjoy Aphex, but have never bought anything because his styles do vary so much, I'm not sure what I'm going to get.

I just started working at a Mushroom farm about 2 months ago, and I was surprised to see that all the custom equipment we have comes from a company in the Netherlands. (A mushroom farm is one of the most cramped production/work areas you will ever see) When I asked about this, I was told that the Dutch have the largest mushroom industry in the world and have developed most of the technology/information that is used world-wide. All because, duh, 'shrooms are legal there! More people buy mushrooms in the Netherlands than any other country in the world! :D A nice story to balance out the sad one.

I love CS. (No offence meant to anyone involved)

You would kick their asses, or the lizards would? I reckon a lace monitor would tear a hole in a person if it came down to a 1 on 1. And people stealing lizards aren't going to want to hurt/kill them, so the lizards already have the upper hand. I think you are referring to the local Bearded Dragons, with the orange heads? But, in the lower mountains I wouldn't have said they have too much orange in them.... Either way, I don't know my local lizards well enough. I don't think Gecko's are a pest, I reckon they were always there and you just never saw them. They like buildings, they are alot like cliffs/caves, and they attract small critters/food like cockroaches, snails, flies, termites, etc. Andy, have you considered notifying NPWS? They won't really be able to do anything this late but it's always good to report so they can track patterns emerging, etc. If these guys are hitting all the waterfront areas, then maybe NPWS will put some kind of trap in place. Down my way, in NSW, they raid people who have illegal reptiles at their house. I know of about half a dozen full-on raids that have occured in the same number of years, with cop cars and everything. And, lastly, I don't think they sell reptiles in pet shops in QLD do they? In NSW it is illegal to publicly display, or advertise the sale of, reptiles. You can't even sell them in the local paper, it has to be done privately!
