hi all, i've started 15 seedlings of the tbm cacti and had a few questions if anyone could help out it would be much appreciated, i started them via the takeaway tek like every cacti i grow, when now they are hitting the plastic and the stems are pink, is this normal with new tbm sprouts, i was also wondering if i need plastic humidity dome for this var like with willys, i have taken off the plastic wrap for a few hours until i figure this out, do i just prop up plastic with sticks and re-wrap? i don't want to kill this batch as they are going strong, Regards, Ando ps. sorry no pics my camera shat itself.

i think we may have crossed wires, these are seedlings 2-3 weeks old, but certainly when i get a new sd card i will update pics perhaps i can get noshi to bring his camera down on the weekend.

i got them from a trade on the ethno thread, im pretty sure it was a replacement trade, but i know it was a traded seed, not bought from a store, so in thus case it could be anything but i was very much hoping it was as i mentioned.

i am still learning and yes it was named (Trichocereus bridgesii monstrose), i thought it was the "penis plant" i think from reading your posts it may be different?, that sucks but none the less i have some awesome offspring, cranking away, i think i'll plastic wrap them again as per other cacti i have seeding as we speak. ps, sorry for any mis confusion if any.
-
well all criticism aside, that's what it said on the packet, i guess we will know when they grow up, i just trade and plant, no bullshit here, more info you say, i really cant think of anything else i could add apart from how old they are and that is 2-3 weeks.

yea she has to pay it back also, what doesn't make sense though is the courts centrelink and dpp are all paid by the commonwealth gov, that's just not fair.
-
g,day all my partner went to prison yesterday and whilst getting things in order i found someones loph seeds in her bag, i don't know who they were intended for but if they sound like yours message me and i'll have them sent off, Regards.
-

the fungi will come naturally as the chlorine evaps from the water, and is just the stuff you see in aquariums on the side, i see it mainly on perlite but try to let at least the top 1st 1-2mm dry before re-applying i assume this would help slow down growth as it can become abundant but it wont harm your seedlings also with spidermite, i wouldn't try it myself but oxyplus for hydro applications will kill anything in the soil level just a weak solution for seedlings, and i've used bounce back with good results also even though it says nothing on the bottle about killing them it does work. ps, watering with rainwater and bottled water is a plus as chlorinated water kills microbes

FREE ROOTED TBM CUT size of 1 and 1/2 coke cans
gogogadget replied to gogogadget's topic in Cacti & Succulents
i'm saying it is taller than a coke can sorry i should have elaborated, i know full well they can't get thicker than a can , sorry eatfoo noshi snapped him up maybe next time bud. -
are you sure it's spidermite and not fungus gnats?, also i wouldn't use fongarid on plants intended for consumption think pup trading...but DE earth is a good alternative and or good nematodes, but i wouldn't worry about the green algy unless it becomes a problem but eco rose from bunnings is organic and kills this i have used it with great results.
-
i'd think because this plant is so finicky to grow from seed i think cuttings would be very very hard, but i also believe every plant has a way just need a will .
-
ive also been looking for ages, will trade brug cuts, loph seed,as much syrian as you need, i have a lot more I can't list i will offer anybody any of the above who can help the gentleman before me and then myself out with fresh viable seed or rooted cuttings perthians know i'm well good for my offers. i'll also throw in a grafted loph button 2 spach, pick up only OR you risk the graft dislodging.. Dear Garden Guru, I have been getting gnats in many inside plants. I had them this winter and I changed soil and cleaned plants time and again and thought I finally was Ok, but they keep returning, never a problem till this winter. Please help me thanks. A: The soil or fungus gnats become a problem when the soil is kept too moist and not allowed to dry out much between waterings. The larvae of the gnats feed on the small fungi that are decomposing the organic portion of the potting soil, primarily peat moss and mushroom compost. Too many larvae in a pot and they can begin to feed on the plant roots as well. To control them, keep your plants on the dry side. You have already gone through the changing of the soil. Sloat carries beneficial nematodes (aptly named fungus gnat destroyers) that can be applied to the problematic containers. The nematodes eat the larvae thus breaking the cycle. Small yellow sticky traps called Gnat Stix can be attached to the rims of the pots to catch the annoying adults. thought id share with you all
