  1. yeah sort of, i just thought the colour one was a little busy for my taste, eye catching doesn't have to mean cluttered, actually i thought a better picture for the background would be a wattle sprig/flower photod on a white background, something like this (but without the watermark) http://image.shutterstock.com/display_pic_with_logo/1141/1141,1221192633,1/stock-photo-australian-wattle-acacia-blooms-isolated-on-white-background-with-clipping-path-17276530.jpg i can't find one without a watermark on the web, and i don't have the available means to do it myself, if someone has the means/opportunity it'd be cool to have one, i was just thinking the wattle may appeal to peoples idea of "australian values under threat" than a brugmansia flower, but thats just me..
  2. thanks for the flyers, may have a go at a more black and white friendly version this evening if i can figure out how to change colours in photos in gimp

    secrets of lilly and lotus

nice thread, cheers, i was going to get some nymphaea to help with sleep problems, i've seen some teas around with nymphaea in it (plus others) do you think a few cups of tea at night would do the trick to help with not sleeping, or would an extract be better?

    Wattle We Ban Next?

so it was here i read about the pamphlet.... yea so, if you've finished it post it up and i'll print off some copies and distribute it at uni....
  6. i received a response from adam bandts (greens senate member for melbourne) office today, "Many thanks for raising this issue with Adam’s office. We are currently looking into the issue and thank you for bringing it to our attention." was what the spokes woman said, fairly benign/useless response, but at least they acknowledged me. maybe i'll send one to that independent from tassie, maybe that guy who spoke for 12 years deciding who he'd side with, at any rate, if someones finished with a pamphlet/poster idea post it up here in a jpg or pdf and i'll print it off and distribute it at uni,
  7. true, although some people seem to take it a bit far, and presume that the phenomena which exist at the quantum level (i.e. entanglement) transfers to the world of classical mechanics. it simply doesn't. oh and i think he christians missed the boat when it comes to actually understanding part of the reality in which they live. their certainly not doing themselves any favours with this intelligent design nonsense.

    cactus fruit cordial

wikkid sick that sounds great! thanks! just have to get my hands on some fruit now..
  9. this reminds me of persingers god helmet although debate still continues as to whether the results are accurate there seems to be at least some suggestion that a belief in god (or some divine presence) at least has links to biophysical origins. reminds of this* article i read some time ago. i agree that most of the arguments for or against the existence of a god include in some way the judeo-christian belief in a single omnipotent deity. i think for an "evolved" look at "god" we need to dissolve these traditional views and start looking into other (quantum?) models of consciousness. if we can formulate a model for consciousness/awareness which isn't intrinsically locked into human (or other animal) biological processes then we can progress toward extending this model to other species (plants in particular), or even to exist in "space" itself (i.e. god mind). *btw you should check out the rest of that blog too, lots of thought provoking material there.

Lophophora seed allowed thru customs or not?

i once tried ordering some contraband mushroom spores from over seas, can't remember if it was customs or quarantine which seized it but i got the box, empty with a blue notice saying they'd been seized by whatever authority it was, that was the last i'd heard of it, i don't see why you wouldn't order from seeds australia, or if you look around you may find a loph in a specialist cactus nursery somewhere in vic,,
  11. hi, found this article online though you may be interested, Sacred plants and visionary consciousness %0A.pdf

  14. if you haven't already sent a submission to the ag, perhaps remember to tell him of the benefits of hemp foods (in the submission theres a paragraph or two about allowing low thc hemp growing or something) theres a fsanz application in the works now to allow hemp foods, (which was previously accepted by fsanz but then rejected by fucking ministers, ugh..) even though i don't think he may have anything to do with fsanz, theres ministerial councils which can override fsanz decisions apparently oh don't forget to tell him he's a cunt too..
  15. http://hailmaryjane.com/breaking-pro-legalization-cops-video-comes-in-first-place-in-white-houseyoutube-contest-and-now-obama-has-to-answer-this-video/ interesting to see obamas pov on decriminalisation considering oz govs direction..
  16. yeah, spose at least it's well in the public psyche now that prohibition is contributing to the problem, thats the only way to stop the war on drugs, a change (evolution) in the public perception on substance use
  17. AUSTRALIAN DRUG TRENDS 2010 http://ndarc.med.unsw.edu.au/NDARCWeb.nsf/resources/Conference1/$file/IDRS+&+EDRS+2010.pdf mescaline does rate, but at less than 1% nationally, dmt slightly higher, datura, on the other hand, barely rates at all (<1% nationally) i have a paper* here for mescaline (peyote) hospitalisations in 12 year period in california (was released last year) 31 hospitalisations in 12 years, mostly symptoms of tachycardia, mydriasis, things you would expect with tripping (and panicking) "Clinical effects were usually mild or moderate, and life-threatening toxicity was not reported in this case series." *Carstairs, S. D. , Cantrell, F. L., Peyote and mescaline exposures: a 12-year review of a statewide poison center database, Clinical Toxicology, no. 48, 2010, pp. 350-353
  18. another study from 2009, similar results (this ones free) Sasaki, Y., Rapid and sensitive detection of lophophora williamsii by loop-mediated isothermal amplification, Biological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, vol. 32, no. 5, 2009, pp. 887-891 http://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/bpb/32/5/32_887/_article
  19. heres the paper abstract if anyone can access it themselves Aragane, M., et al. Peyote identification on the basis of differences in morphology, mescaline content, and trnL/trnF sequence between Lophophora williamsii and L. diffusa., Journal of Natural Medicine, vol. 65, no. 1, 2011 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20890669
  20. yep, particularly as they lump the entire genus lophophora (including L. diffusa) in the "cactus which contain mescaline" pile, which is a patently falsifiable statement, however i don't think the government are really interested in facts here..
  21. i've also just found a journal article from 2009/2010 which explores mescaline content of L. williamsii and L. diffusa, showing L. diffusa to have no mescaline content and L. williamsii to have specimens which contain mescaline and those without, pm or email me if anyone wants it..
  22. actually on further reading i believe these are related to something else, but maybe worth reviewing for some inspiration how to structure a submission.
  23. sorry, forgot the link, mentions just the broad term "hallucinogen", which often the lump MDMA in with also,
