  1. PM me for some freebies Carl!.....so many of the cacti seeds i got off you last season are coming along nicely.....they were my introduction to cacti basically.....

All were labelled, except some dodgy looking fruit thing, which heaps of popped up, but i didnt take care of em, so only one survived. They were astro capricorne or ornate bishops cap. either way was devastated i didnt realise what i was planting at the time lol

You just want a few to raise from seed? or for nom nom nom?

  2. lol man waiting for my pod to ripen up seemed like an eternity!....i think it was actually probably closer t0 3-3.5 months. Formed quite quickly (maybe 2 weeks), but then took forever to ripen, and i didnt remove it, until it started browning and shrivelling of its own accord. Wanted to get it off just in case it managed to rot inside its own flesh.

    Brug fruit for breakfast anyone?

  3. I care not the motivation! If you didnt grow it...leave it alone.

Did whole trees(that were not your own) ever die as a result of your actions folias? If not....harvest away......if so....bad karma for you

Ive got a bunch of obtuse, floribunda and accuminata coming along nicely, that I will one day harvest(as sustainably as possble too)

Use the trees in the wild as a source of seed and grow your own FFS!

You might actually learn about the plants and trees, as well as the alkaloids in them!

Do you care for plants folias or only the drugs in them?

  4. I am adamant that it has to a sturdy physical structure. Everything else about the cactus is superfluous.

Does that mean you don't care for its culninary properities? :scratchhead:

If not... $50/m is good value...if you do.....buy a bridgesii

Personally like the rest of the group, you can never have enough trichos, or cacti in general for that matter!

  5. LMAo...this is almost scary timing klip. I just harvested my first ever brug pod (crossed by me) not 4 days ago.

It is a Brugmansia candida X 'Double white' Flora Penna cross Brugmansia 'Sacred Sunset". Some of the seeds were much bigger than others, and the seed pod looked nothing like the pics of how a candida pod should look....much fatter, but still with the length of a candida pod.

Hand pollinated - first attempt ever at brugs, so they cant be that hard ;)

    Pics up very soon!

Can grab you pollen of sacred sunset, the double white candida, or a candida 'hot pink'. Let me know. Peace

EDIT: Im assuming the 'sacred sunset' must be a sauvelens(maybe even aurea), as its genetics made the pod much fatter, and the sacred sunset flowers are usually at about 65degree angle(sauvlenlens if im right? Torsten? lol)

Darkspark....got any idea what the 'sacred sunset' is species wise?

  6. Pretty sure everyone here loves to grow plants....learn about them....and use them...full stop.....pretty sure that group of ideals in itself constitues what I and everyone else here beleive (amongst our other ideals(christian, muslim, atheist, and all the other idenditified religions) and therefore under greg's proposition, we will all be able to use transcendant compounds anyway, because we are all of the Corroboree religion.

Sad to see everyone arguing. Greg....I support what you are doing, but can also certainly see why some may be opposed to the idea of transcendant compounds only being avaible to selective religions. How are you going to define religious beleif's? As this is the biggest issue by far I think....

As an atheist in pursuit of altered states of consciousness, I really couldn't give a proverbial which way it becomes legal for me to grow my own drugs and use them, for no other reason other than I f@cking want to!

So sick of the man telling me what to do, and seeing my brothers and sisters argue as a result of it! :BANGHEAD2:

My choice is what I choose to do...and if im causing no harm it shouldnt bother you.

Your choice is who you choose to be, and if your causing no harm then your alright with me! - Ben Harper

Back to the Garden amongst the gnomes and fairy's!!

    Peace

  7. for nom or sow? lol

I got 13.8 grams (116 seeds) fresh off my vine one and half months ago and stored straight away out of light and heat.

I actually need someone to bioessay them, as the vine seeded after only 2 seasons, which i thought nervosa var. nervosa only did after 5 years?

It came from SAB early 2011 as a little cutting, that has well and truly(along with my caapi) taken over my garden.

  8. oi CM where in Aus are you?

For Oz members, it is a good idea to let people know at least your zone, or preferable your general geographic area (ie im SE QLD or Gold Coast.

You dont need to know where i am, but it lets people in SE QLD know that if if i have something there really after, thats too big to post, they can come get it personally , and vise versa. Also i( and many others here) dont like sending postage tubes to W.A or TAS, but will post cuttings in tubes to all other states. Seeds only for TAS and W.A members really., unless i feel like playing russian roulette ;)

  9. I usually have close to 100% sucess with pere as stock, and following scions; ariocarpus, copiapoa, lophophora and turbinicarpus, but ive tried 5 Turks Cap (Melocactus peruvianus), and only had 1 sucess :(. When it gets too big for the pere, it will go on some tricho stock, and hopefully will re-pup on the pere......i also have 40 seedlings 3 months old, and 4 that are a year old, so like DoodAbides, is more just for teh lolz than anything. Kinda like my "Tim's Penis" i made! :S

  10. Beat me to it DarkSpark ;)

Bhut Jolokia seed, loph williamsii(Texana) seed

VERY viable Datura stramonium and D. stramonium var. tatula

When you say Naga jolokia, are you referring to the actual 'chilli' not 'capsicum' shaped version of the jolokia's (ie Naga PC1(Tezpur) )? 300k-800k scoville? These are the world's hottest actual annum species as opposed to the always ridiculously hot chinense species?

If so also seed here. PM me for details on all my strains of chilli, and prob Darkspark too...hes got heaps of exotic super hots.

  11. Hey Zelly. Sorry for not contacting you back. Ended up conversing with Jox prior to sale to him, and am going him halfs in costs/seeds.

Shameless bump for Zelly. He is the man! Seeds arrived safely in recipients hands within like 5 days of posting, and that was with standard postage!.

If inside Australia, and you require 'Mexicans' from outside of Aus, then look no further.

CHEAP AND FRESH SEED...can't go wrong....Thanks again Zelly.

  12. Hit em with tomatoe dust. (copper and sulpur and spinosad).

The copper will destroy any bacteria or protozoa carrying around the virus. If its fungal(doubt it ), the sulphur will get it. Stops the spread of virus pretty good.

Dont grow chillies, tobacco, eggplants, tomatoes or daturas or most other SOLANACEAE plants together to avoid big problems.

EDIT: Mist leaves once then apply dust, then avoid misting leaves for at least 1 week, to avoid overly humid, problem-promoting conditions, and leave dust remaining on leaves.

Keep and eye out for whitefly/thrips, and the ever notorious spider mite, which if not actually seen, can be noted by the early drying and yellowing of leaves before reaching maturity.

Spinosad is a systemic miticide too.
