I put down some trichocereus spachianus down about 3 weeks ago, the most most powerful one out of the lot is an albino. Is it strange that it is growing better than the rest? there are 3 or 4 others also showing signs of lack of chlorophyll, but no where near as distinct and healthy as this one in particular. What should i graft it to?

    Uknown Monstrose cacti

very interesting guys. Please excuse my ignorance. ...if peruvianus is the generic name for unknown cereus, then could someone please help me ID this beast Any ideas. Like was said. If zelly said its something...then that's what it is. Stillman yours is still very interesting whatever it is. zelly or Bongchitis any idea what this is? Ill get some big flower pics up. Excuse the ratty garden too guys....this was November last year when I was first drawn to gardening/ethno and decided to build the beds you see in the background, which are now flourishing, as can be seen in some of my albums.

    passiflora questions and id

One should be careful when considering smoking Passiflora blends, as all but incarnata i believe are said to contain iso-cyanides/cyanide's , which are released upon combustion/immense heat. (straight into your ) Someone know more about this? I just remember seeing something about this a while ago.

    Brugmansia but which?

More info on this guys? i also have this and would like to know more. Agree with marcel, and very resilliant to two spotted and red spider mites. The whole plant turned red from em, and still managed to soldier through. Loves to almost swim in Dynamic lifter, and can handle liters upon liters of water almost everyday. Very fast growing.

Any cereus peruvianus monstrose pollen please?

Thanks heaps mate....would appreciate if you could send me a little bit of fresh pollen please when it opens. I was always under the impression needed different genetics, as i have 2 giants (5-10years+) that have flowered at the same time, and i have observed big moths at night on them, and yet never received fruit/seed ? Any one else shed some light on this? and as to the viability of frozen pollen of this species?

    Dealing with fungus gnats

The last 4 posts are all very good advice when dealing with gnats. neem kills lavae too, where as i don't think the pyrethium does as much to the eggs. 1 inch FINE sand on top and in bottom of pots stops the little buggers getting in/out Air flow is good as i've noticed they suck at landing in 15knot+ winds (like midgies) Also humidity will help speed up the process of making microbial activity, which they froth for!, so avoid if you can. Its a fine line between gnats and two-spotted(spider) mites people.... very broad observations here too much water = gnats not enough = mites Also make sure their not breeding in sponges in your shower if you've ever had indoor plants Now get out there and battle those bugs!
