  1. Hi,

I tested two species of ephedra in simple infusion made using something like this:

I dont know english name.... "plunger infusionator"?? :P

Used volumen of ephedra stem powder was more or less one cup of coffee in both bioassays. I drank two pots like above, using the same powder for extracting all "substance" of quantity used. Similar way as argentine mate.

The species tested was E. fragilis and E. distachya (It could be major but I am not sure of ID).

    E. fragilis was no active and I was able to sleep without any problem.

One month later I tested E. dystachia /major. Definitely this specie was active. I felt my heart flapping and I was not able to sleep at night.

    I haversted both in October.

I hope you find my short report interesting ;).

It's good to know that it has a species name!

I think you have two clones of hairy specie. Your "bald clone" are a bit "hairy", mine hasnt any hair.

  3. It was in fact Henry Ford that came up with the 40 hour week. Though it was not decided upon to be healthier for the worker, or to give them more time relaxing or spending time with their family. Ford recognised that in a capitalist society one needs consumers to drive demand, so he gave his workers 2 days off to be good little consumers and workout what you could do with a car/ work out what else their lives were missing.

The true origin 40 hour week was this.

The Haymarket affair was a setback for the American labor movement and its fight for the eight-hour day. Yet it also can be seen as strengthening its resistance, especially in Chicago, where, as historian Nathan Fine points out, trade union activities continued to show signs of growth and vitality, culminating later in 1886 with the establishment of the Labor Party of Chicago.

Henry Ford was only a nazi bastard.

  4. I have a "clone" of P. spathulata wich a friend brings from Mexico. He picked up in a botanical garden. He gave me long time ago this PS clone and other pereskiopsis specie but only spathulata survived. I can remember that the other specie had more woolly areoles than spathulata.
