    Ephedra-how is it now???

I have found a link where shows a table where E. major is the highest and cleanest source of ephedrine (1,9% of (E) and traces of (PS)). i prefer this information that you say about E. major, Torsten. E. major is very common where i live. :D . http://www.cannapee.ch/ethnoshop/docs/ephedraphyto.zip

    securinin

The structure of securinin: http://www.chemie.fu-berlin.de/fb/fb96/pl7.gif This alkaloid is contained in several species from de genere securinega( = fluggea). It is suspect to be a mild estimulant( i cant remenber where i have read this information). I am interested in it beacause there are a securinega specie (S. tinctoria)this plant grows wildly in south of Spain.

    Mescaline in opuntia species.

Perhaps opuntia species like trichocereus have got concentrated the mescaline in their green skins. Perhpas future analysis will shows higher concetrations. (0,1% or more?) If you have read "ayahuasca analogues" where Ott confirm that mescaline is potentiated by IMAOs like harmaline/harmine, the litle concentration of mescaline from opuntias would be very interesting. the opuntias that you say are so hardy not like lolophora or trichocereus.
  8. These plants appears in pharmacotheon. They have been used by natives. If they are psychoactive they would be pretty interesting beacause they are plant from template climate. http://ls.la.asu.edu/herbarium/treeshrub/p...nts/thamon.html http://ls.la.asu.edu/herbarium/treeshrub/p...nts/stepau.html

  16. hello. I am reading a book about native shrubs from Iberian peninsule. I found two interesting species. -Maytenus senegalensis, i just know this specie, it is related to catha edulis and it is reported to contain cathine. -fluggea tinctorica. the book said that this shrub contains securinine. I have found this text about securinine: The chemical structure of this compound is similar to: chemical structure It isnt an amphetamine like epedrine, cathine, etc. then my question is: Could securinine work similar to another estimulant alkaloids?.

here you can see a good image of lactuca serriola. lactuca one difference between l.V. and l.S. are the tips of leaves. Virosa has a round tips and serriola has sharp leave tip. [This message has been edited by sascacheuan (edited 31 August 2002).]
