So really most american pronuncinations are only 'right' because unlike europeans they always 100% 'know' rolleyes.gif how things should be pronounced, because there really is only one way - the american way. hehehe.... Antother word that has some pronounciation troubles, even for spaniards. OAXACA. How should you pronounce it to a mexican understand you?.

I have not read nothing about psycoactivity of seeds, but it would be a good way to hold alive the plant for a long, and dont begin from zero after you harvest the roots. Have you read something about psycoactivity of seeds?.

Where I live, you can find three species, E. fragilis is quite different to E. dystachia and E. nebrodensis. But Between E. dystachia and E. nebrodensis is soo hard to distinguish them. I can only know what are when they have berries. At the botton of my blog you can find one image with the comparision of the three species. http://ayadegasaski.blogspot.com/

Wich is the usefull part of the plant? There are many species of silene, perhaps others works as well.

One day a friend of mine told me that when he was a child the playing to smoke with inula viscosa leaves. He told me that he felt some dizzines. Perhaps it may be the harsh smoke but the plant smells similar to MJ....

Another interesting specie related to peganum and tribulus is Zygophyllum fabago. Seeds are flat, rounded and brown like peganum seeds. i dont read any study about carbolines concentrations of this one. It would be really good to know how much, because this specie is more easy to grow than peganum.

Archaea writes: The best chems are in the seeds but it is not strong. I have done black light tests with leaves, stems and seeds in water and it is not very reactive, mature seed gives a better reaction than those that are still forming. Hello. Where i live tribulus terrestris grows like invasive weed. All the years i have observer fruits dont turn brown and they are ever green. Perhaps they turn brown(mature) out from plant on the ground.... do you know when and how the fruits was harvested, Archaea?

You can get some little information about Peganum mexicanum in: http://plants.usda.gov/ This specie is cited in Texas and New Mexico. Its probably that someone living over there may be have tried it thinking It was P. harmala.
