Has anyone successfully used smoke water or is there some other method?Tissue cultures? but guess you need a plant & the right setup for that Running out of seed pretty fast at this rate... Any tips much appreciated, or better yet if some one has any potted seedlings??? Seeing as its getting cooler might be a time to go for a long long drive to the simpson via the north coast.

The riches of early season hunting

No photos sorry, next time... tasted the corals out there, no ill effects, fairly sure they were ok. Having eating more at home for dinner no ill effects. Seemed to have all the signs of being reasonable edible - no brown bruising, , not bitter & no gelatinous bases But who knows if this a good way to tell?? From looking into them only seem to have a laxative effect if not good to eat. BTW love the photos from india tripsis. Looks like an interesting time.

The riches of early season hunting

Also picked a load of saffies on the weekend amoungst others - There were stacks generally but def noticable in some areas that heaps have already been picked. Quite a few people about - prob a few from this site, but who would know....large gatherings around the turnoff & a few outn about further towards jenolan way. some suillus ( not as many as i would have thought), 2 solitary subs, lots of mycena about ( are these edible?)A few coral type (clavariaceae?) -which went well with dinner. Is it best to remove the skin on the suillus? ususally do but curious as to what others think when used fresh? Dried? Started to dry the first batch of saffies in a dehydrator but wondering what others exp are with this method? Dried whole or sliced? Do they reconstitue well or become a bit tough? If they become tough prob best to powder & use as a stock maybe? Got to love the forests out Jenolan way... The girls were a great help but always want to know why we were looking for certain "toadstools"

  6. According to the suggestions at the Getup site,as of today, it doesnt look or seem like they want to get involved at the moment for various reasons That might be old news. Are receiving 'donations' the same as trading or selling? Beside all that there are now a hell of lot more plants that i need to collect. Going to be busy....Whos got what before time runs out??Is there a date for this implementation?? This could start abuying frenzy. btw I have to say thanks to all who have helped me out in the past with various things... Maybe we need to start a seed bank like the one in Nth Europe. (forgot the name of the place)Whos got a massive Fridge/freezer? prob needs to be the size of a small town. Could be a group collective/co-op style of thing. We would therefore all own the plants etc that were donated by members & use/ grow them as needed. Now thats a big garden spanning many climates.Ha got to store these seeds & genetic material until they potentially change their minds as to how stupid all this is...
  7. Hi Wanting to know if anyone has for sale or where to acquire any sida seed, dubosia myo or hodgekinsonia frutescens (seedlings pref) Thanks
  8. Has any one any concise info on quantities/qualities of desert pituri? traditional use, todays use? is it still sourced by the locals, dosages etc, etc. There is no concise info out there.I have done a bit of reading but am wondering about any ones personal experiences. I had the fortune of going out to the simpson not so long ago & was interested in the plant so went on a drive ( mind you a long & sandy one) to see it in its native habitat. I am not sure how long the dried leaf is viable so doing some research. I am sure it would also be in other areas & which area is regarded as the strongest? I am reasonably familiar ( a few years back) with its subtropical sister plant & some of its effects. curious to find out more
