dionysus replied to PositiveHAL's topic in Cacti & Succulents
PC stands for predominant cultivar, http://www.largelyaccurateinformationmedia.com/pedro/pedro.html has some information about some controversy surrounding this particular cactus. welcome to the forums by the way man, good luck saving some of that loph. looks like it would have been pretty impressive pre-damage. dionysus -

i reckon thats my favourite bit of trance i've heard here so far, awesome job. the 'instruments' really work well together and the melodies are right up my alley -
cultivation of psilocybe mushrooms (and any other psilocybin/psilocin/baeocystin/norbaeocystin mushroom) is illegal and advertising that you plan to do so probably isn't the best move. perhaps it would have been best to phrase your question as a hypothetical ie 'if one were to ..... would ...... result' and i would probably edit your post to reflect this. anyway, i can't help you with your question, but good luck finding an answer. dionysus

Magic mushrooms may aid depression, study finds
dionysus replied to faustus's topic in News & Notices
there are many different 'anti depressant' drugs which do many different things, some would interact with psilocybin/psilocin (like MAOIs for example) so which chemical your friend is taking is important information for someone to be able to tell you if it is okay, legality aside. i certainly wouldn't want to ingest any considerable amount of 'magic' mushrooms if i were worried about it interacting with my severe anxiety, that sounds like a recipe for how to have a bad time, but perhaps some benefit could be gained from less than visionary doses for depression sufferers like there is for sufferers of cluster headaches etc -

perhaps upon turning into charcoal some of the carbon arranges its self as graphite? i'm not sure how that would work, but i have always thought graphite to be the only 'metal like' allotrope of carbon

What zodiac sign are you?

virgo whitewind, the goat being ascociated with satan is a modern belief. origionaly, the imp azazel (who tricked satan into leading the rebellion) is the king of goats. the jewish people would sacrifice one goat to god and one goat (the scapegoat) to azazel each year, and probably still do. -
sallyd, i think he means he lights the bottom end before sealing that particular section up. this is cool, i've not thought about doing this myself before. would a similar process work on a much smaller scale to make drawing/art style charcoal? if so, this is something i will be doing often thanks zaka

jabez, those guys and gals did change the world, albeit not to the extent they were hoping. with out them, it is likely that a lot of us would not know many of the plants we are here to learn about and grow and may not even have ever heard of 'lsd and psychedelics'. all forms of the art, from written word to music theater and visual arts have taken on a great change and some of my personal favourite stuff has been produced by people in some way affiliated with the 60's hippie seen, and they have influenced me greatly. sure, we may not all my running round hugging eachother exchanging berries drugs and vegetables in a world of peace of sex, but what they did achieve is still impressive, i think. -
i'm pretty sure most of those phones use either 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz for their wireless technology (the same frequency range as just about everything else, the only parts of the spectrum designated public bands) and tv signal comes in at somewhere around 50 Mhz so i believe it is possible the tv signal could be a factor of the frequency range of the phone and therefore get interference on a 50:1 dipole causing some signal loss but your phone shouldnt have enough gain to reach your roof antenna enough to cause as significant amount of packets lost as you describe, perhaps there is a faulty electrical component in the phone unit or similar causing the excessive power in your house wiring that may cause a lot of electrical noise and interference. if you switch back to one of the old style phones that don't draw mains power, your problem would be likely be fixed. which would be a much less expensive option than having someone re-insulate wires from your antenna or something to block out the noise. good luck getting your issue resolved dionysus

http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/catholic-churchs-pedophilia-investigator-in-charge-of-child-protection-jailed-for-pedophilia/news/2011/11/14/30172 my father is a catholic, sometimes asks why i distrust catholocism. stories like this (and many others that site tells, including ones starring the current pope) certainly don't help.

catholic paedophile investigator jailed for paedophilia
dionysus replied to dionysus's topic in News & Notices
i too thought the 12 month sentance was not enough for such a thing, no where near enough. i have to say though i don't have a problem with actual catholic people, in fact one of the main points of the article is that it's a shame people like that use the catholic church as a platform to gain trust and exploit people and bring down the reputation who genuinely believe they are doing good and try to do real good. -
if it feels just as firm as the rest i'd be inclined to think my earlier suggestion is accurate, must be nice to find out you don't need to chop one of your little guys...
