  2. Hey guys just after about 40cm of Mike or Eileen if anyone can spare a cutting. I have my little beast ready and raring to go so I can drive to pretty much most places around the Perth area. PM or reply to this topic.

Or if someone has both.. that'd be a bonus! Even better if it's already rooted!

  3. Two words brother.. Psybient Music.

I just weaned myself off mood stabilisers because they were destroying my melatonin, my sleep is becoming more consistent and I'm finding aslong as I don't mess around with anymore chems or prescription meds my chemistry is coming back to normal and I'm feeling happy, motivated and at the end of the night I feel the drowsiness come back on.

Keep the temaz at low doses dude and if you feel tired without it, don't have one. Seriously though.. I have never in my life fallen asleep within the first 5 minutes of lying down, until I put on some Psybient music! It works in a similar way to meditation, where it puts your mind into a trance-like state and generally all the stresses or feelings of anxiety will subside very rapidly and before you know it, it's time to wake up.

It doesn't always work for everyone.. I guess it just depends what your mind is seeking. Have a listen anyway.. The sound of flutes, thunder and rain is very calming!

  4. Yeah I'm pretty sure he suspects the soil to be fairly moist down the bottom. I will tell him to go buy a bag of perlite, uproot the bridgesii and repot it with some perlite mixed through the soil.

He has it under his patio and allows the morning sun to hit his cacti so that should be sufficient enough without cooking the roots.

Yeah it's a gorgeous grey/blue colour hey, a good 40cm tall and he paid only $30 for it. I'm keeping an eye out for the next one lol. Or I'll just buy a nice Eileen cutting off a forum member and root it myself!

  5. Thanks for your post bro.. your on the same track as I am hey. I've been telling him he's over-caring for it lol, we've had a week straight of 40+ degrees a few wks back and I'm fairly sure he was watering it almost everyday up until the spots started. He is also a little concerned about the softness of the base-centre, I didn't find it all that spongey but he is concerned that is has base rot.

I will tell him to leave it without water until they either heal over or it starts looking thirsty. If the bottom becomes more spongey I'll tell him to cut it off at the base and save it.

  6. Hey guys my mate scored this beauty from Bunnings! Ever since he's had it home though it's been growing some odd black spots that my mate seems to think will destroy his lovely bridge..

Heres some pics.. Anyone who could possibly ID the spots and let me know if theres anyway to fix them. I've heard of some people using a sort of powder on black spots?

  7. I love these sort of topics.. brings out the genuine individuals!

I can relate soo so much to your friends situation dude.. I myself am living with shame/guilt and lack of self-respect. Although I have admitted my problems and sought help both within this community and with counsellors/psych's. It's a daily struggle to fight off those demons and keep that chin held high..

All my close friends have faded away, off living their lives, getting married and starting a family of their own.. If it wasn't for my daughter and the support of this community, I honestly don't think I'd be posting this today..

Your friend definitely needs you, just make sure you look after yourself too dude.. sleep well, eat properly and although it's fucking hard when it's a close friend.. try to not let their issues get to you too much. You are doing your best and I'm sure he knows that too.. There's nothing more destructive to a depressed person than to lose their connection with friends and family because their becoming a burden to everyone..

I wish the best of luck in your friends recovery and I hope that he see's the light sooner than later.

Your a life saver bro.. don't ever forget that!

  8. I hate public transport but I'm actually kinda excited about going across the river on the ferry lol. I know my daughter will love it!

Hey... quick question guys. Has anyone got a 30-40cm bridgesii or eileen cutting they'd be willing to sell? I'm quite happy to drive to most places near Perth.. aslong as it's not over an hr's drive! :)
