Yeah I live roughly 40mins south of perth, you a northy or a southy? This weather has certainly been dry and hot the last few days! Find myself with a misting bottle attached to me all bloody day long! haha Anyways thanks everyone for the warm welcoming! I've been getting eye strain for days now, just diving deep into The Corroboree forum history and racking my brain with as much info as it can take! Thanks again guys!

    Copelandia cyanescens

Mate, I'm not fussed if it's 4 weeks over the planned date aslong as I am notified and kept informed. I've PM'd and emailed more than 5 times each since last monday and have heard nothing. I just get concerned if I've purchased something and it's taken slightly longer than expected, which I have no worries with as it is the busy season for Auspost, I would just like some sort of contact so I know there has been no dramas and that it's been posted. That is all. I'm not having a go a EsKa by any means.. I just figured he must be a busy bloke and if he receives alot of emails he may've missed them or something, would just like to know that everything is all good.

    Sick little P. Viridis

Hey guys!! I received two little P. Viridis rooted cuttings in the mail roughly 3 weeks ago now, they were healthy when they arrived and I expected some yellowing and wilting due to the fact they've come from QLD over to WA's dry hot weather. The leaves on both plants haven't really shrivelled at all they tend to tuck in a little at the tip when its hot but I had some nice looking green new growth coming up through the middle, they both had a little brown on the tips which I also expected from the dry heat. But.. what is happening is the new growth gets roughly 1cm or so big and from the little dry brown tips on both, a brown starts to form further and further down the new little leaf until it gets to the base of the new leaf. One plant had both little leaves go brown so I picked them off and the other seemed happy as until today (which was 35 degrees and dry) when I noticed on the other plant that the brown was also going further down from the tip of the new leaf, the other side of the new growth seems ok atm, it's just one of the leaves is starting to do it, like the other plant did. My question is.. is this due to the fact that even the new growth won't be used to the humidity change yet and will turn brown and drop off until its acclimatized properly? Or.. is it because I cannot bloody leave them alone and keep touching them atleast once a day on the new growth to make sure there's no bugs etc. All the acid's from my fingers I thought may be contributing to the new leaves turning brown? As for the yellowing of the bigger leaves, I have added dynamic lifter and some UREA and also the growing medium has added nitrophoska in it. I just figured it's still adapting to this dry weather! Sorry for writing a book! Don't wanna lose these little guys, any info would be GREATLY appreciated! Also.. I'm misting them roughly 5 - 7 times a day. Cheers LikeAshes

    Sick little P. Viridis

Cheers for the advice dude! I've been bloody misting it heaps hey, and very heavily too when I do. So I will cut that down to a minimum and also I'm boiling the water now and letting it cool to remove any chlorine or heavy metals that may be staining the leaf too. As for shade.. I have them under my patio which has a few strips of smokey clear plastic to allow some light in which they seem to like, but because of this raw heat I have placed them in a nice bright room to get some new growth. I tried the humidity thing last night in a white bucket with glad wrap on top and airholes.. but they were quickly wilting so I took em back out, which now they're quite happy with leaves up high. So fingers crossed that they survive haha! I am fairly sure aslong as they stems stay green they will regrow new leaves! Thanks again mate

Hmm think I may have just found my answer! I have been misting too much when I shouldn't need to mist at all, it sounds like there is a foliage bacteria forming from the hot days and constant misting. I have literally watched a leaf turn brown at the tip and then later that day the whole leaf is brown, so it definitely sounds like some sort of foliage bacteria. I'm going to stop the misting, especially with tap water! Give them a good feed of some miracle gro and leave them be. Let's hope it works! Anyone with some extra advice would still be hugely appreciated!

Yeah most definitely, I generally call the typical member of society a "sheep" as they all flock to the same place if something attracts their attention, they all hype and rave about the same thing. But that makes total sense when you say that there is probably on average, 1 shaman per main suburb around Australia. Showing the lack of intelligence within society and that nobody cares to go "outside the square" that we all live in. I feel a massive sense of pride when I realise these things, knowing that I will and have discovered alot more than most people I know and am willing to open my mind and go outside the square. The day I'm on my death bed I will be able to look back and appreciate everything I've done and learnt in my life and not live the same boring life that unfortunetly alot of people are going to live.. due to the fact that they just don't care what's "outside the square" so to speak. They rely on doctors to fix their mental or health issues, rather than seeking and discovering remedies for themself. When I was researching on aids for Anxiety, Stress etc. I came across a bunch of things but the one that stood out the most was 5-HTP, which has been a MAJOR contributor to helping myself get over or adjust to things in life. The lady at the health food store couldn't believe what she was hearing and said to me "I've never met anyone in my history of working here that is around your age, male and has done his own research into how to assist in dealing with lifes problems". I told her that the doctor was just writing me scripts for Valium.. Which is disgusting! Anyways.. thanks for the heads up magicdirt on where I may be able to find any local meetings that are planned. Cheers.

    WTB: Camellia Sinensis

I am speaking with a seller on Ebay who is from Melbourne, he seems quite young and is willing to send them via Express post to WA, they are $18.95 each, I am just waiting today to find out what the Express postage costs are and hopefully it can be placed in a 5kg Express Satchel. It looks roughly 500mm high! So he may have to prune her a little. Trying to see if he can transplant it into sterile peat moss to keep WA quarantine happy if they do decide to have a peek. Just found out its $38 for Express Post to WA or $18 for regular, plus $18.95. So I think I'm just gonna pay the extra for Express as it's much safer on the plant. Will let you know how I go gilligan, if all is good then I shall let you know if you're keen to order one yourself or I can maybe send you a few cuttings if you wanna give cloning a crack! Heard its meant to be quite difficult, but Camellia's seem to be a semi-soft wood so shouldn't be too hard!

    WTB: Camellia Sinensis

No worries thanks for the help! I will have a sniff around some decent nurseries and bunnings to see whats around. Anyone from WA had any luck finding this Camellia? I see standard Camellia's everwhere around here so they obviously are quite hardy and tolerant of our climate. GRRRR! I just tried so many places around perth, even ones that specialised in Camellia's and they dont have the Sinensis at all, John Coles apparently stopped growing them hahah what a joke! What is wrong with fat ass lazy people not wanting to grow their own tea in WA? Anyone that can source me a Camellia Sinensis, I will be bloody over the moon!! There is 2 on Ebay but nooooo... no sending to WA!! haha F**K WA quarantine wtf is wrong with a completely legal plant thats clean and in sterile peat moss?? Waaaaankers..

Happy Highs on 9 news tonight

I must agree with this.. while it does come down to the individual using his/her head and being bloody responsible (which 17yr olds are not). I have queried HHH on their smoking extracts and told her I was looking for an alternative to MJ, she did admit that their 1g herbal extract packets had a synthetic spray on them to "spruse" them up a bit. I tried one from HHH and another from a local shop, which was called Kronic. She told me that they would not stock Kronic for the fact that some bloke got fully hooked on it, haha. I tried the 'purple haze' Kronic and I have to say.. I was about as relaxed as I was from a Wild Lettuce tea, noticeable but not nearly as tasty or heavy as MJ. I certainly felt it had absolutely no addictive potential and I consider myself to have quite an addictive personality.. I say it comes down to how smart/sensible the user is and whether they are aiming to destroy their body/liver or not! Drink coffee half hour all day every day and you'll be just as likely to f**k yourself up as if you were taking 4-5 capsules of "legal party pills" as apposed to the recommended 1. They are just as strong as a cup of good coffee, thats all! Buy some no-doz same effect!

    Is this bad?

a smile rose upon my face as I worked my eyes up from the mould! I have a 30+cm 'green coleus' like this, I left her on the ground for roughly 10mins and my DOG bloody took every big leaf off it, so I dried them out for some potpourri. There is still alot of regrowth on the stems but only small. I know its a little off topic btotl.. but does any1 think with a little 'tlc' she will come back fit and fighting? I have read from quite a few sources that they are hardy little beasts that have come back from severe frosts if givin a little bit of love. Anyhow.. on topic. The 'hort' at my old landscape company used to make her own Pyrethryum spray from the plant and kill off moulds that would form over the late autumn, which I have never seen a white mould or heard of Pyrethryum killing any moulds. I have never tried it myself but she swore by it. How sensitive Coleus are to burning though I have no idea.

    Posting Caapi Cuttings Interstate

Your cuttings should be fine via express post, make sure your friend uses sterile peat coir or rockwool just to keep them happy if they do happen to take a peek at it.
  19. its going to be a good week!

  20. I am sure you will find someone on here no worries. I do know the seller and have purchased several HBWR seed packets off him/her, as for the plant I have no idea on the condition of it but the seeds were very viable.

  25. Hey guys! I'm new to this forum but been into ethnobotany/pharmacology, organic chemistry and just horticulture in general for years and years. I cannot believe there is a forum such as The Corroboree, that allows all of us to trade and learn from one another and make the government actually realise that most plants are there to help us, not to destroy us. Anyways.. I am chasing some of the following beautiful plants, seeds or seedlings: Ephedra Sinica/Major, Tabernanthe Iboga or Voacanga Africana. Also after some Mimosa Hostilis. I have noticed on herbalistics that they have Voacanga, but they will not send to WA! So anyone within WA that may have one or all of these Species, I would absolutely LOVE to hear from you! Otherwise anyone willing to send a plant from over East I will pay whatever is required to Express it over plus the cost of the plant. Will trade 200-500+ HBWR seeds(UV treated) if just 1 seedling/cutting from any of the first four can be sent or however many it takes. I have to trade, plenty of HBWR seeds for growing(from Alligator Crk QLD), some Erythrina Fusca seeds and some P. Somniferum seeds. That is all I have to trade at the current time as the rest of the wonderful things I have are all still growing. If you are not interested in the seeds then I am more than happy to pay whatever price to own some of these gorgeous tropical plants. Hopefully someone out there can help me out with one of these! I would be speechless! Thanks guys! LikeAshesWeFade
