it is expensive though at about $50-$55 a plant ... if anyone finds it cheaper i would love to know
-
the only advice i've found is:
sow in compost at 75 deg C in the dark. they will germinate sporadically over months.
check them periodically, as some may produce a root but no shoot. if this is the case, pot them up in sand/peat 1:1 3-4" pot ...
one problem i have is how far to strip back the seed? there is the fleshy fruit, then a thin casing, then a fleshy seed that somewhat resembles a lychee ... i was thinking just remove the fruit and plant in the casing?
-
thought i'd ask about this again as there's so many new faces around since last time i checked ... anyone have this bamboo and can spare some cuttings?
-
thanks theo
hopefully i'll won't be needing the arnica, we're taking it pretty easily for the less cyclically inclined
'scuse me while i just duck down to hong the herbalist for some cordyceps ...

hey psilo, if you grab some whole root from an asian supermarket (or other) and just plant in good compost or heavily fertilised potting mix, should shoot in a couple of weeks in warm weather
-
how do you use the micropore tape? is it taped over the top of the graft and down either side? i would think this wouldn't let enough light through to the scion.
-
what species is the stock darklight?
and in your humble opinion MS which trich makes the best stock?
-
good point alien ...
and reminds me, just a week or two ago a frog has moved into my garden
you can hear frog croaking all night, yet to identify it ... and the pond is just a plastic basin sunk to soil level ... that easy.

Recently I tried some of our pyrethrum mix, which I make from pyrethrum syrup (and nothing else) and this did no damage.so can you explain how this is made torsten? unless you don't want to give away any secrets
-
*do not* use pyrethrum on trichocereus species ... it suffocates the cactus and causes very unsightly skin damage ... i didn't know this until *after* i sprayed my three biggest trichs
i was told this effect is exclusive to trichs, anyone know?
-
AN INHALING MIXTURE OF VIX AND DATURA WILL PRODUCE HEAVILY INTENSE RESULTScould you tell us more about this mindmelt? how was the mixture made, what parts of the plant used, a trip report?

got back on tuesday night, what an amazing trip! ephedra and betel nut got me through and was much welcomed by others ...
it's closely related to the Wollemi Pine (and grows right next to it in the RBG).
i've seen it there .... but i can't remember which species??
