  1. Yup I've read about Parafilm, any ideas on where to find it?

You can find Parafilm here: http://www.livingstone.com.au/2010/?PG=search_result&CAT=6&search=parafilm

and you can also find it at Mycosupply.com

Florists also use it as well but I am not sure what kind of rolls they get. I just bought 2 inch by 250 inch roll. It works really well as it allows for gas exchange and it will stretch and also partially go back to its original form so it makes a nice seal.

  2. hey dude! welcome to the forum! bunnings is crap. wa succulent supply wont have what your looking for. wa soceity is alright. there will be a cactus show in feb. ill post details closer to the date.. your better off keeping your eyes peeled. more chance finding them in gardens then at nurserys. what are you looking for???

    Hey man,

Thanks for the information. How big is the club and what kind of people are there? I imagined it being a club full of old geezers. I am looking for San Pedro and Bridgesii but I am also keen on non psychoactive cacti as well. They look good and they are good to place under entry points like windows etc because they frustrate burglars etc so they're more likely to break into someone else's place =P I just got a bunch of seeds in the mail that I ordered from Earth Alchemy but it will take a while until they grow :( I also need to locate some 'coarse sharp sand' at the moment for the seeds. The user B. Caapi told me about some hardware store that has some cactus mix that he uses but I think it's hell far south of the river but I'm keen for a drive. I live in the Swan Valley area.

  3. I have an All American. I would recommend getting one and because the Aussie dollar is so strong at the moment then they are a lot cheaper. They are cheap if you buy them through Amazon.com, however, Amazon.com won't ship it to Australia. However, you can get it delivered by a freight forwarder which solves your problem or if you know someone in the U.S. then get it delivered there for free and then get your friend to post it here.

  4. its probably going to have errors again but here are the pics so far.

The writing on the wall is my girlfriend’s idea of helping paint the greenhouse.

The pics show my outdoor collection - they have been in the greenhouse for about 2 weeks and already a few have got sunburn. I knew I was making the change a bit quick but couldn't really do much about it.

It gets pretty hot inside. I have a smaller pot (3lt) with a thermometer inside to get an idea of temperatures at the root zone - it was a toasty 43C at about 2pm today.

I have found another way to kill my plants! yay.

The night time temps are cold too. I will be paving inside and putting a 2nd skin on to try and stabilise the temp a bit.

Did you get council approval to build? =P

  5. Hey,

First time poster here. I was wondering if any Western Australian users have ever been to a meeting of the Cactus and Succlent Society of W.A.? If so then is it any good?

I am trying to find some decent places in Perth that sell Cacti. I was also thinking of checking out http://www.wacactusucculent.com.au

I checked out Bunnings and a few other places but I find nothing or what I do find is appalling.

    Cheers,

    Migraineur
